Fabrication of an Inconel Retort Assembly for the Nuclear Industry

A customer in the nuclear industry came to Orbit Industries, LLC. for the fabrication of an Inconel retort assembly that would meet all ASME NQA-1 2000 requirements.
Procedures performed by our expert fabricators and machinists included custom fabrication of all jigs and fixtures, multiple fabrication and machining processes and assembly, installation of internal trays, as well as crating for shipment.
The materials used were Inconel 600, 601, and 602. Measuring 3/16", 5/8", and 1" thick, the retort assembly was 8" high, 16" wide, and 16" deep. It had a pressure range up to 15 PSIG. Special features of this retort assembly included chemical resistance and a heat resistance up to 1400F, all within a tolerance of ±.001".
Upon completion, the product was run thorough the full range of required inspections. We delivered the assembly to our client in Washington State, who was highly satisfied with all aspects of production and service.
